Job Title – Technical Trainer

Location – Canary Wharf

Contract type – Permanent, Full-Time

Salary – Circa £45-60k per annum + bonus

Our client specializes in IT and financial markets consultancy and have experienced a period of serious growth. They are great business to work for and offer a fantastic working environment to the right person.

They require an experienced Technical Trainer that can help them to increase the level of relevant skills and knowledge within the graduate and Consultant population through the provision of training and learning support.

The focus will be on providing an organized, innovative and engaging approach to training and development and on generating training materials and delivering training in group and one to one scenarios on software and operating systems, database technologies and vendor software packages.

What will be keeping you busy?

You will design and write training materials and deliver training courses. As well as this you will be responsible for conducting and organizing technical interviews and assessments, mentoring graduates, including on-site visits where they are working at client site.

You will work closely with HR to respond to new training requests and support with the technical component of appraisals of the graduate population. You will keep abreast of latest trends in key investment banking technologies and reporting updates and evaluate all training interventions through trusted L&D methods.

The role will require you to provide technical advice to your colleagues in sales, providing support around client technical requirements including; interpretation, definition, requirement analysis and implementation plans.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone that has a technical background with experience of programming and has then moved into providing best in class training.

You will have strong experience in training design and development and training delivery along with strong technical skills in Linux and scripting.

In terms of qualifications, we would like to see an expert Java or C++ developer, with investment banking experience and or expert knowledge of database technologies (SQL), job control and monitoring.

Ultimately, we want to see first class presentation skills, ability to engage an audience.  It is essential that you hold excellent technical interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to the high level complex discussions that the delegates and the training population would expect. You must be able to communicate complex issues to technically minded delegates and to communicate skills, knowledge and information to facilitate and enable delegates to improve their own skills.
